Best Way to Get Black Ice Conan Exiles
Easiest way to farm Black Ice for T3 building?
Looking for an optimal way of farming up a stockpile of black ice for some base fortifying. We have about 5-6 people ranging from lvl 30-40 and we have been farming reinforced stone. I keep seeing people talk about how easy black ice is to build so was wondering what the optimal (cheap) armor set and area to farm is at! Thanks in advance!

Frozen keep has an utterly ridiculous amount of black ice inside of it

bring somebody with max encumberence if you can it makes life so much easier

What armor/weapon set would you recommend a bunch of noobs to suit up in to deal with the cold and the giants?

level 3 vitality will negate the cold.

Note that when it comes to climbing this isn't quite true as you'll need to get out of the 'Extremely Cold' state long enough to climb if the Black Ice you're trying to farm is on a ledge as many deposits (though not all by any means) are.
I recommend bringing some spiced food and firewater for these trips, it's relatively easy to make and if you're venturing into the cold having some production of it is worthwhile as not everyone in your group will have Vitality to 3 at all times.

Light Vanir fur will keep you mostly warm enough. There are a few spots in the keep that you'll still get frostbite though, it's cold in there. Black Ice nodes last a long time though, you can get several hundred out of 1 node with a decent pick. (playing on a 2x server)

There are copious amounts to be found and mined south of the volcano, no need to storm into any keep. Just have clothes that protect from the cold (ALL items) and 20 vitality at least to minimize further. You will freeze to death very fast up there... Oh, and the stuff is not heavy. So you can carry 500 of it while wearing light armor. Plus, for building you don't need that much of it...

I can't stress how easy it is doing this as level 60, not so much so as a lower level. At 60, max encumberance and 30 into vit and you're set. I went there once, farmed 12600 black ice and haven't had to go back since.

Lets not forget the Yellow Lotus Potion so you can respect later on, which is what I plan to do (and re-do if I ever need to do mega hauls for resources; there is just no way I am ever going back to carrying a dozen stacks of something when I can now carry a 100 stacks).

Wow thanks for all the helpful responses! Last night we managed to farm roughly 2k Black Ice and are now well on our way to a full T3 base!

-Temple of Frost -Vitality 3 is a MUST -5-6 people will kill the giants with ease -1 person with max encumbrance can carry all the ice -Frost giants also drop T3 resource, steel bars
